NATIONAL ROOT BEER FLOAT DAY

HONORING OUR VETERANS SINCE 1919

It all started with a tiny Root Beer Stand. Entrepreneur Roy W. Allen set up shop on the streets of Lodi, California offering a brand new creamy and refreshing drink served in a frosty mug. It was a hot June day, and Allen thought his concoction would be the perfect accompaniment for the parade honoring the return of World War I veterans. His Root Beer was a hit — a unique and tasty, fresh-made blend of herbs, spices, barks, and berries that has remained a symbol of celebration, innocence, and camaraderie ever since.
A lot has happened and changed since those early days, but much remains the same. We continue to serve our signature made-fresh Root Beer in a frosty mug. On National Root Beer Float Day, we want to honor our company's roots by continuing to provide support for the homecoming of our service members. Visit a participating A&W Restaurant on August 6 and receive a FREE small Root Beer Float! As part of the celebration, we will be collecting donations for DAV (Disabled American Veterans).

Offer good for one free small A&W Root Beer Float. Valid only on August 6, 2023, at participating locations. While supplies last. Limit one Float per person.
